Meet Our Leadership
Our Pastor ... The Rev. James Bischoff
At Trinity, the Rev. James Bischoff serves as our Pastor and provides the Sunday celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Pastor Jim first served as a visiting priest for Trinity and transitioned to the position of our Pastor in June 2022. His installation as Trinity's Pastor was held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 7:00 P.M., with The Rev. Dr. Bonnie A. Perry, 11th Bishop of the Diocese of Michigan presiding.
A word from Pastor Jim:
I thank Trinity Episcopal Church for entrusting me with the opportunity to serve as its Pastor. I am available for any pastoral needs you might have and look forward to continue to preside at worship.
Some background information: I grew up in Whiteford Township, graduated from Whiteford Schools, earned a BA in choral/keyboard music from Capital University (the other university in Columbus, OH) in 1972, a MDiv from Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary (now Trinity Lutheran Seminary), also in Columbus, in 1976. I was ordained in 1976 and served congregations in Temperance, Suttons Bay/Northport, St. Clair Shores (all in MI), San Marcos, CA, and Muncie, IN. I retired in the fall of 2017. In 2017, my husband, Dave Kroll, and I moved back to the Whiteford area and in 2018 built a house on the farm land that had belonged to my great grandfather and where I grew up.
I have done additional study in the areas of worship, liturgy and music in the UK as well as here in the US, and also have studied Celtic Christianity in the UK.
I look forward to being with you as we serve God through the ministry at Trinity Church.
Jim Bischoff (or Pastor Jim if you prefer)
